About the Festival

Drive In outdoor film festival

The Comcast Outdoor Film Festival started in 1996 as the first major outdoor screening event in the United States. The event began on the grounds of the NIH Charities and remained there until the events of 9/11 eliminated public access to the grounds of NIH.

The film festival then moved to several other locations, but in 2013, found a home at the MCPS Board of Education lot. Join 20,000 community members as we bring the drive-in theater back to Montgomery County for three nights of fun for all ages, fully equipped with our gigantic 65′ screen, music and games.

We can’t wait to see you there!

Three nights of feature films and family fun – all benefitting the NIH Children's Charities!
